Prof. Pecht’s Recent PHM Talk
Prof. Pecht was an invited speaker at the Condition-Based Maintenance and Health & Usage Monitoring Symposium held in Shrivenham, UK, on April 21-22. Prof. Pecht talked about prognostics implementation in aerospace applications. He spoke about the challenges faced by the avionics industry, the operational and environmental demands on avionics, and the approaches to conduct prognostics for avionics. He also discussed CALCE’s research in prognostics for avionics.
Prof. Pecht presented a keynote talk at the EuroSimE 09 Conference held in Delft, Netherlands, on April 27-29, 2009. He spoke on the topic of “Prognostics and Health Monitoring for Improved Qualification.” He presented a PHM-based qualification methodology which provides early detection of faults, helps determine life cycle conditions, detects intermittent faults, can improve product reliability, and can provide added benefits to product qualification. The fusion prognostics approach, which blends elements of the PoF and data-driven approaches, was presented at this conference.
